Our Maintenance and Operations Division is looking to add a Stationary Engineer 2 to our team at the Yakima Valley School in Selah!
This position is 7:00am-3:30pm Saturday-Wednesday with Thursday and Friday off.
Our Yakima Valley School is a certified nursing facility recognized for quality medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, and psychiatric services and other programs.
Responsibilities
As a Stationary Engineer 2, you'll perform skilled engineering and repair work related to boiler and HVAC operations. You will be responsible for overall safe and efficient operation and maintenance of high-pressure steam plant, consisting of:
2 high pressure boilers of 150 boiler horse power and 14 hot water hydronic boilers spread across 8 buildings on a 16-acre campus.
As part of a small maintenance crew you will have opportunity to cross train and learn new skills as this position is also responsible for some of the facility maintenance and equipment repair which will require basic plumbing and electrical skills .

Who Should Apply
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of stationary (or marine) high-pressure boilers and heating systems.
- Certificate of completion of an advanced Stationary Engineer course from an accredited vocational/technical school or community college.
- And, two years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of stationary (or marine) high-pressure boilers and heating systems.
- One year of State service as a Stationary Engineer 1.

- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and installations of HVAC and boiler systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Monitor system performance.
- Troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Help keep the school warm in winter and cool in summer so everyone feels good and safe.
- Use less energy to save money and help the environment.
- Make sure the heating and cooling systems work well, so staff can focus on helping the students without worrying about problems.
