DSHS WSH Lead Licensed Practical Nurse
Western State Hospital has a Lead Licensed Practical Nurse opportunity. You will provide nursing care, educate nursing staff, and assign non-clinical duties to nursing staff under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
As a lead LPN worker, you will assign non-clinical tasks to LPNs and MHTs. LPN4 educates/trains LPNs as the "Super User" in WellSky procedures. LPN4 educates MHTs in nursing care delivery, and the use of patient care equipment.
Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs.
Opportunities performed on- site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.

Some Of What You'll Do
- Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you'll work as a lead worker assisting with providing nursing care and educating nursing staff
- Ensure that Licensed Practical Nurses are educated and trained in Pyxis and WellSky as super-users
- Work with institutional counselors in the area of nursing care delivery and the use of patient care equipment
- Administer medication and transcribe orders from the MD
- Educate the patient on adaptive living skills
- Possession of a valid Washington State license to practice as an LPN
- 2 years of experience as a LPN
