The Information Technology Division (ITD) exists to leverage technology to enhance and sustain business processes, public safety infrastructure, and statewide emergency communications to facilitate the accomplishment of all agency goals.
Duties
The Axon Records and Standards Systems Administrator has the primary responsibility to ensure that the agency needs are met within this platform. This position will directly support field users and the reporting and tracking of cases and investigations (everyday database management).
Our new teammate will be able to:
- Configure and maintain the Axon RMS to meet agency operational and security requirements.
- Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls to ensure secure and appropriate access.
- Monitor system data integrity, resolving any discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Establish disaster recovery protocols.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for system-related issues, troubleshooting, resolution, and liaison to Axon post-project implementation.
- Provide technical support for end users to ensure effective use of the system.
- Develop user guides and documentation for staff to enhance understanding of system features and functions.
- Optimize system configurations and workflows to improve efficiency and usability.
- Support the integration of Axon RMS with other systems and tools used by WSP.
- Work with Axon and internal teams to customize the system to meet evolving business needs.
- Ensure the system complies with all relevant regulations, policies, and standards, including CJIS requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams, IT staff, and Axon to resolve complex issues and implement new features.
- Communicate system updates, changes, and outages to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Ensure that reporting tools are functional and accessible to authorized users.
- Identify opportunities for system improvement and implement solutions proactively.
- Perform data validation to ensure accurate data collection.
- Create and/or adopt new incident report forms, sub-forms, and cards within Axon RMS when needed.
- Update current forms, sub-forms, and cards within Axon RMS.
- Collect and document end user needs, and serve as a liaison between the WSP and Axon.
- Maintain proficiency with the Axon Ecosystem.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Two year associate degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field AND three years of relevant experience using, consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing, supporting, and/or maintaining database management or electronic records systems. OR
- Four year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field AND one year relevant experience using, consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing, supporting, and/or maintaining database management or electronic records systems. OR
- Four years of experience using, consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing, supporting, and/or maintaining database management or electronic records systems.
- Two years of experience in a supervisory role leading staff, evaluating, training, mentoring and providing accountability and strategic direction.

NOTE: This is not a full-time telework position. Candidates must be able and willing to work in the office and commute to here.
