Camp Dates:
- June 16 – August 15
- No Camp: June 19th, July 4th
Work Hours:
- 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Compensation:
- $20/hour
Position Summary:
The Food Service Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the food service program during WTEF’s summer camp. This includes preparing and serving meals to students, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the snack room and kitchen, and ensuring that all food safety and hygiene standards are met. The Food Service Manager will play a key role in ensuring that students receive nutritious and enjoyable meals in a positive and welcoming environment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch daily for summer camp participants.
- Maintain a clean and organized snack room and kitchen area.
- Manage food inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are consistently followed.
- Clean up after meals, including washing dishes, wiping down surfaces, and properly storing food.
- Monitor student behavior during meal times to ensure a safe and positive dining experience.
- Collaborate with camp staff to coordinate meal times and accommodate any dietary restrictions.
- Support camp operations as needed to ensure smooth daily programming.
Required Experience:
- Experience in food service or kitchen work (school, camp, or similar setting preferred).
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Experience working with children or in a youth program is a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualities/Qualification Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of experience in food service, school cafeterias, or similar settings preferred.
- Enthusiasm for working with children and creating a positive, safe environment.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage a fast-paced environment with flexibility and professionalism.
- Must pass background screenings, including fingerprint checks with FBI, MPD, and a sex offender registry review.
