What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute School Bus Driver position at Washington Township Schools?
Hiring Substitute School Bus Drivers in Morris County, NJ
Immediate need for school bus drivers with valid CDL, Class B Air Brakes with (P) Passenger and (S) School Bus Endorsement. If you don’t have a license, we will consider you for our training program.
Looking for reliable persons of good moral character who possess the qualifications and communication skills necessary to perform the duties of the position. Applicant must be 21 years old, with minimum of 3 years driving experience. Must comply with State and Federal requirements for DOT medical examinations (click here for more information https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/faq/Medical-Requirements), drug/alcohol testing as well as State and Federal fingerprint background checks.
Disqualifiers include: a) more than 4 points against current driver’s license in the past 5 years and/or suspensions for moving violations, b) conviction of DUI of drugs or alcohol since initial driver’s license, c) deviant or illicit social behavior, and d) any crime indicative of bad moral character. This list is not exhaustive as other concerns may surface during the job interview.
Main duties include covering routes to/from school, fueling and cleaning each bus used. Additional duties can include field trips and athletic trips. This is the first step towards a contracted, full time position.

Salary: $28 per hour
Hours are flexible as needed - no guarantee of hours each week.
