Tutors must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. Tutors must be on time, professional, and willing to be trained in the AVID tutor essentials. Tutors will act as role models and must be able to engage with and help students in their school work by using questioning techniques.

Tutors must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. Tutors must be on time, professional and willing to be trained in the AVID tutor essentials. Tutors will act as role models and must be able to engage with and help students in their school work by using questioning techniques.
Requirements / Qualifications
AVID is an acronym that stands for Advancement via Individual Determination. AVID is an in-school academic support program for grades K-12 that prepares students for college eligibility and success. The AVID Tutor will work with small groups of middle and high school students under the supervision of an AVID teacher.
Strong background in high school math and English. Works well in a group setting.
Qualifications :
- College student with a minimum of 2.5 GPA. Strong Math and or English background.
- Demonstration of reliability and organization.
- Enjoy working with middle and high school students.
- Preferred experience as an AVID Tutor and / or student.
- Ability to act in a leadership role.
- Demonstrate oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities :
Education and Experience :
High School Diploma, College Student, Experience working with other students, Former experience as an AVID student preferred.
