What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Tutor - Riverbank Elementary position at Washington Unified School District?
Job Summary
Tutors must be enrolled in either River City High School or Washington Middle College or be a graduate of either of the two schools. Tutors must have reliable transportation, be on time, be professional, and be willing to be coached. Tutors will act as positive role models and must be able to engage with and help students in their school work by using questioning techniques.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications :
- High School Student with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
- Reliable
- Good Communication Skills
- Bilingual preferred but not required
- Currently enrolled 11th & 12 graders preferred
Responsibilities : The primary goal is to enhance academic performance for all students. Tutors will be selected based on their academic performance and if needed teacher recommendation. This is a temporary, grant-funded assignment, and tutors will be compensated on an hourly per diem basis.
