Under the supervision of the Head of Preservation, Processing and Exhibitions, the Architectural Collections Processing Archivist will oversee the description and arrangement of Special Collections architectural materials with a focus on the William A. Bernoudy Collection and complementary collections supporting architectural scholars, students, and faculty. This position will work closely with curators, digitization, and preservation staff to ensure preservation of and access to this collection.This is time-limited position of up to18 months.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs condition assessment, re-housing, inventories and other related activities involved in the processing and description of the Bernoudy Collection and other complementary architectural collections.
- Works collaboratively with curators and other staff to develop and execute efficient and effective processing plans following current standards and best practices. Creates finding aids from these processing plans and publishes them in ArchivesSpace.
- Supports patron and outreach activities to faculty, students, staff, and patrons and works with Libraries staff and University departments to ensure proper stewardship and enhanced use of the Bernoudy Collection and other architectural collections.
- Documents and tracks processing progress. Regularly reports progress to library staff and external and internal stakeholders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
