This position is responsible for the strategic administrative and operational management of the university’s off-campus real estate activities. Under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor, this position acts as ‘Chief of Staff’ for the university’s Real Estate office. The position will assist in shaping the university’s real estate portfolio by participating in long range planning and managing property portfolio deal flow, transaction management and operations.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor, collaborate on the identification, acquisition and financing of properties. Conduct necessary due diligence and analysis and present findings. Develop and negotiate contracts for purchase, lease and/or sale.
- Develop and manage programs for major rehabilitation and renovation projects and new development in communities where the University is a stakeholder; help define the university’s role in such developments and research and present structures for participation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, property owners, and other key stakeholders active or with the potential to be active in the submarkets within which the university has significant real estate holdings; maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of the metropolitan market and regulatory environment; represent the Uuniversity as appropriate.
- Manage inventory of capital investments for all residential and commercial properties, as well as leasing and ownership arrangements.
- Supervise the hiring and management of university agents for commercial tenants; oversee and direct the process of lease development and renewals.
- Develop and manage implementation of syndication program for major renovation of residential property portfolio using third party consultants and contractors.

Base pay is commensurate with experience. The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
