The Roland Lab is seeking an enthusiastic Research Lab Manager to join our study of brain networks in development and pathological conditions. Our work primarily uses functional MRI (fMRI) and intracranial electroencephalography (iEEG) for studying the brain through evoked responses, functional connectivity, and other metrics of normal and abnormal function. We utilize a range of advanced imaging methods from volumetric analysis of anatomic imaging to functional connectivity with resting state functional MRI (rs-fMRI). We also work with pediatric patients who have medically refractory epilepsy that volunteer for research participation before or after surgical intervention as well as alongside routine clinical monitoring with intracranial electrophysiology, most commonly stereo electroencephalography (SEEG).The ideal candidate will be a proactive goal directed individual with experience managing research projects, data organization, pre-processing MRI imaging, as well as providing oversight and assistance to other lab members' efforts. Experience with a Linux environment and Python scripting for analysis is critical. Knowledge of brain imaging computational analysis is also necessary.
Working with pediatric and clinical patient populations requires a special individual with excellent interpersonal skills due to the delicate nature of performing basic and translational research alongside clinical care.
Performs, oversees and coordinates research projects. Oversees entire laboratory setting to promote smooth operation, regulatory compliance and interaction with other laboratories.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
With principal investigator, designs, performs and evaluates research procedures.
Assists with grant preparation and journal article submission.
Develops and implements policies and procedures. Provides comprehensive direction to laboratory personnel.
Hires, trains and evaluates the performance of laboratory personnel.
Oversees and directs all support activities of the lab including human resources, budgets, facility maintenance, purchasing, supplies, materials and equipment.
Researches and recommends new methods and procedures to maintain current capabilities, quality and standards.
Working Conditions:
Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

$63,400.00 - $115,000.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
