Position Summary

Dr. Amargant-Riera’s research laboratory focuses on understanding the mechanisms that define oocyte quality. The female reproductive system is the first to age in humans resulting in a decrease in the quantity and quality of oocytes. The lab uses the mouse model to investigate the ovarian pathways that regulate oocyte quality and whether these mechanisms are dysregulated with advanced maternal age. We are interested in two main lines of research:

• How do the mechanical cues of the ovary regulate folliculogenesis and

oocyte quality? (See Amargant et al., 2020, Aging Cell)

• How does oocyte-granulosa cell communication regulate folliculogenesis

and oocyte quality in normal conditions and aging?

Working Conditions:

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range:

Base pay is commensurate with experience.
