The position of SILQ Center Director of Administration is responsible for overseeing the administrative and operational functions of the Tracy Family Stable Isotope Labeling Quantitation (SILQ) Center. The SILQ Center was established in partnership with The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital and generous donors to form a world-leading center utilizing mass spectrometry and other novel methods to discover neurodegenerative protein biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease, related disorders, and aging. This role involves providing strategic leadership, managing Center operations and staff, coordinating research initiatives, fostering collaborations, and ensuring compliance with university and sponsor policies. The position will report to the Center Director and be a member of the Center Executive Leadership Committee.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions):
Provide strategic leadership and administrative support to the SILQ Center.
Develop and implement the center's strategic plan in collaboration with faculty and university leadership.
Oversee the Center’s operations, including budget planning, monitoring external and internal funding sources and recharge center management to ensure alignment with university guidelines, sponsor regulations, and best practices in research administration.
Oversee staff recruitment, performance evaluation, and professional development. Effectively manages performance and development of staff to maximize efficiency through training and timely coaching. Sets a tone of leadership that is people-oriented, collaborative in nature and builds a management culture based on teamwork, open communication, innovation, mentoring and accountability.
Collaborate with and mentor junior faculty members and researchers to facilitate Center research activities and projects and determine effective resource utilization.
Establish and maintain impactful partnerships with university departments, industry, government agencies, and external research organizations to foster collaborative research and funding opportunities.
With the Director and Co-Director, lead proposal development and fundraising efforts to support the Center's activities.
Contribute to manuscripts arising from Center-supported research initiatives.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for the Center Executive Leadership Committee, The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and scientific and lay audiences.
Coordinate, facilitate, and implement interdisciplinary collaborations across university departments, schools, and external partners to advance the Center’s mission.
Establish and oversee metrics for evaluating the Center’s performance and impact to guide decision-making and strategic planning.
Oversee the Center’s infrastructure, including research equipment, IT systems, and other essential resources, to ensure operations and research support.
Manages budget and related areas for assigned department and enforces spending limits.
Represents the school on various university and system committees and working groups.
Performs other duties as assigned.

$84,200.00 - $148,500.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
