The purpose of the technology transfer trainee position is for the individual filling the role to acquire skills and experience in the commercial development of research discoveries. Under the supervision of business development staff, the trainee handles straightforward, uncomplicated agreements for both patented and unpatented IP and evaluates university technologies for commercial potential.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Duties and responsibilities include working with and assisting Technology Transfer Office staff in all activities required for transfer of technologies to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device industries, from initial invention disclosure to licensing.
- Trainee will assist staff in:
- Development and maintenance of external website.
- Database updating, maintenance and reporting.
- Initial meetings with inventors to discuss invention details.
- Interactions with patent attorneys and participation in patent processing discussions.
- Market research to determine marketing strategies and target companies for inventions.
- Development of non-confidential disclosures.
- Contacts and meetings with potential licensees

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
