What You’ll Do
The Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist will be a key individual contributor responsible for AP, expense reporting, 1099 reporting, and other monthly close activities for the Niagara Falls, NY plant. This person will play a key role in our finance team ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, managing vendor relationships, and helping maintain the financial integrity of our organization. The AP Specialist will report directly to the Credit Manager.
Support full cycle accounts payable activities, including entering, processing, and paying invoices
Maintain and manage all incoming invoices and respond to all vendor inquiries in a timely manner
Perform 2-way or 3-way match with purchase order and receipt documentation and ensure proper coding of invoices to the correct cost center and GL code
Reconcile, research, and correct discrepancies on vendor statements
Audit expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies
Identify, track, and properly account for prepaid expenses
Assist in testing and evaluating test transactions within a new ERP system
Support requests for the external audit team
What You’ll Need
To be successful in this position, you must:
Have a minimum of 3 years of AP experience with a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred
Have experience in a manufacturing environment
Be a self-starter with a strong initiative and ability to work independently
Possess good judgment, problem solving skills, and attention to detail skills
Be able to work in a collaborative environment with both internal and external customers
Have experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
