What You’ll Do
The Production Superintendent will be a key player in the management of two electric arc furnaces and several crushing, grading, and warehousing operations. This position will play a vital role in improving Washing Mills’ competitiveness, including driving change to make the operations more consistent, safer, and efficient. The Production Superintendent will report directly to the Plant Manager and work with various departments.
Oversee three supervisors and demonstrate strong supervisory skills
Take a hands-on approach to mentoring and training of production staff in areas of change and to ensure best practices are performed and maintained
Collect and analyze plant processes, procedures, and performance using data from Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and make recommendations for improvement
Conduct time studies to ensure processes are hitting established targets, identify inefficiencies, and provide recommendations for improvement
Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools to identify and develop solutions that drive operational improvement
Incorporate 5S methodology in all work areas to provide employees with a clean and organized workspace
Work closely with the safety department to train and monitor subordinates to ensure a safe working environment
What You’ll Need
To be successful in this position, you must:
Possess a bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or a closely related field
Have a minimum of 5 years of management experience, preferably in an industrial environment
Be detail oriented, have excellent interpersonal skills, computer skills, and the ability to lead team members
Have a strong commitment to safety and work in a highly organized manner
