Materials Aide - Per Diem*
*IMPORTANT NOTE: In lieu of benefits due to "per diem" status, 15% will be added to the hourly rate. Per diem employees are offered work on an "as-needed" basis.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Materials Manager, performs daily functions as they pertain to the operation of the warehouse including receiving, distribution, inventory control and shipping.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Some higher education desirable.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Minimum Work Experience
- Computer entry experience required.
- Excellent phone skills.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment.
- Microsoft Office or Google Suite skills required, with basic level understanding of MS Excel or Google Sheets preferred.
- Forklift experience desirable.
- Previous warehouse work experience desirable.
Minimum Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Current Driver’s License with clean DMV record required.
- Forklift operation certification (at time provided by CVH)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multitask various jobs; such as, being interrupted while performing a duty that will need to be put on hold in order to complete a different pressing function, then resume and complete the original duty.
- Appreciation of the importance of team, resource and relationship building.
- Strong planning, decision-making, oral and written communication skills needed.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Receiving
- Receives shipments into the facility, including unloading freight from trucks, verifying piece counts on all inbound freight, matching packing slips with purchase orders and receiving purchase orders into computer system.
Distribution
- Inputs, picks and delivers hospital department orders on a daily basis. This includes the delivery of items called in by departments and any back orders that are received.
Inventory Control
- Performs annual physical inventory and periodic cycle counting of hospital inventories.
- Performs monthly review of inventories for expired supplies.
Shipping
- Responsible for outbound shipping of packages and/or letters via UPS and FedEx.
Certifications
- Obtain forklift certification within first 3 months of hire.

Per Diem positions have no guaranteed hours or set schedule. The position will fill in for individuals who call in sick, take vacation or take a leave of absence.
