SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under supervision of the Family Resource Director/Special Program Coordinator and site administrator, provides services to increase parent involvement in their child's education; support staff in their work with children and families to help meet identified needs and goals; perform a variety of clerical and/or technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility; support and meet program goals and objectives in the areas of health, education, parent involvement, and social service referrals; and support and maintain the goals and objectives of the Family Resource Center (FRC).
EXEMPLARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties may include: provide office clerical support such as receptionist, answer telephones, greet visitors, oversee volunteer sign in, coordinate FRC calendar with school calendar, and assist staff of the FRC in directing families to needed resources. Data entry/ tracking of all client contact and services provided.
Other responsibilities dependent upon experience and qualifications: plan, prioritize and participate in providing family intake, need assessments, outreach, referrals, follow-up and other related services; recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for providing services/programs; implement policies and procedures; maintain records and develop reports concerning new or ongoing programs and program effectiveness; prepare statistical reports as required; participate in training programs offered in conjunction with the FRC and other community agencies.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education/Experience: Any combination equivalent to education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be:
1. Equivalent to a high school diploma;
AND
2. Two (2) years of progressively responsible office or clerical experience is required.
Knowledge of: When working with the Appleseeds & Parenting Wisely basic knowledge of child development/ infant care is required. Previous experience working with children and families is preferred. Typing and computer skills are required.
Licenses/Certificates: None Required.
Special Considerations: Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are required. Some evening hours will be required.
Physical Demands: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Environment: The environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, residences, or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

Sch B: $18.11 (entry step)
Salaries are subject to adjustment and may increase and decrease each fiscal year. New employees hired by Washoe County School District are normally placed on the entry step of the grade of the position.

This is a 40 hour per week, Temporary position ending June 2025. Applicant must have strong interpersonal skills which includes being positive, patient and the ability to work well with children and adults. Bilingual skills in Spanish are also desired.
Temporary employees working less than 6 months do not receive benefits.
New employees will be fingerprinted upon hire and every five years thereafter and will have $58.50 deducted from their first paycheck to help defray the cost of fingerprinting. Non-licensed employees will have $58.50 deduction when their fingerprints are completed every five years. Fingerprint fees are subject to change.
