Position Summary:
To provide the Campus Services Manager with assistance in ensuring that work activities are executed and the needs of the College are met. Under direct supervision of the Campus Services Manager this position is charged with the duties and responsibilities listed below. This position may oversee activities of Campus Services personnel in the absence of Manager for purposes of coordinating daily work.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision of the Campus Services Manager this position is charged with the duties and responsibilities listed below. This position may oversee activities of Campus Services personnel in the absence of Manager for purposes of coordinating daily work.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in directing, coordinating and scheduling Campus Services daily activities
- Communicate information to Campus Services personnel as directed
- Attend meetings and converse with vendors, contractors and various College Department staff
- Maintain inventory of materials and supplies needed for college and department use
- Respond to radio calls campus wide
- Advise and demonstrate work methods, practices and procedures for completing job assignments and assists in the training of Campus Services personnel
- Notify Manager of concerns or issues regarding supplies and equipment (i.e., malfunctions, needed repairs, safety infractions)
- Follow and advise Campus Services personnel on safe work procedures; ensures proper safety precautions, regulations, and practices are observed
- Confer with the Campus Services Manager on job priorities, emergencies and complaints pertaining to the functions or activities of the Campus Services department
- Assist with training of Campus Services personnel
- Assist with coordination and training of part time staff
- Coordinate and execute bulk mailing jobs
- In the absence of the Manager, report directly to the Executive Director of Facility Operations and assist with coordination of daily activity and allocating additional personnel to cover absences and respond to complaints
- Performs all duties of a Campus Service worker:
- Load, unload, transport, deliver and pickup college mail, parcels, supplies, materials, and equipment as
directed. - Process all domestic and international inbound/outbound mail, goods, materials, equipment and furnishings.
- Works with and maintains supply chain and inventory management systems.
- Maintain a college Surplus site, Sealed bid or donation format for Property Disposition.
- Accurately record and maintain records of departmental equipment, via designated software program
- Stay informed of Federal, State of Michigan, The College and Departmental Policies, Regulations, Guidelines, and Procedures including, but not limited to DOT, FCC, US Postal Services, and State of Michigan – DEQ, Sales Tax, and MSDS – Right to Know Law).
- Establish and maintain related work files of accurate data, data files and records.
- Ensure adequate departmental supplies, materials and downloaded postage funds are readily available to meet the needs of the department.
- Identify equipment and furnishings containing hazardous and/ or universal waste components. Dismantle, test and properly dispose of Universal Waste components per Universal Waste Management guidelines.
- Ensure college and federal asset tagged items, flowing thru the department are reported to the college’s asset
management team. - Provide operational support for college sponsored and community events and programs.
- Ensure the timely same day pickup, delivery and processing of packages, mail and rush requests.
- Actively maintain an orderly, clean, organized work zone, facility and college vehicle
- Load, unload, transport, deliver and pickup college mail, parcels, supplies, materials, and equipment as
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Regular attendance on campus is required for this position.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in a typical warehouse facility where you might encounter drafts, dust, exhaust fumes (gas/diesel), spikes in noise levels due to equipment use, weather conditions, as well as, those related to construction/demolition zones.
- Ability to lift, pull, and use pushing motions, in repetition, with goods, equipment supplies and like items from light to heavy in weight.
- Ability to handle parcels consisting of micro-biological items (alive/perishable), chemicals (hazardous), and items classified as universal waste.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- High school graduate or GED certificate.
- Five (5) years full time successful related work experience, or successful completion of thirty-six (36) college
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs ( Outlook, Word, Excel). Use of oracle-based software
- Demonstrated ability to operate mechanical and hydraulic lift trucks and other motorized vehicles

- Possess and maintain a valid government issued Driver’s License with evidence of a good driving record; acquire
- Ability to be flexible and constantly adjust to changing priorities.
- Ability to follow through and carry out assignments.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally, in writing and electronically.
- Physically capable of lifting at least 60 pounds of material or equipment waist high, the ability to travel from building to building and floor to floor.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with clients, co-workers, and management in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way.
