WCC is establishing a pool of qualified candidates to be considered when a Part Time Classroom Assistant is needed for Learning Support Services (LSS) in providing access for a student with a disability. Needs may become available prior to or during each semester. Upon successful submission of your application, you will be considered for part-time opportunities on a per course basis. Position Summary:
The Part time Classroom Assistant will be responsible for taking accurate thorough, legible notes during a class (or classes) for the duration of the semester, and/or assist a student with a disability with physical access in the classroom or lab specific to requirements of the course.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Hours/Schedule: This is a part time position that will not work more than 20 hours per week. Varies—determined by the class schedule.
Position Summary:
The Part time Classroom Assistant will be responsible for taking accurate thorough, legible notes during a class (or classes) for the duration of the semester, and/or assist a student with a disability with physical access in the classroom or lab specific to requirements of the course.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take accurate and legible notes for a student with a disability in various courses as assigned by LSS. Notes are posted or provided to the student the same day as the class,
- Assist a student with physical access during the class or lab with classroom materials or equipment, this does not include tasks of a personal assistant.
- May assist with accommodations for testing.
- Attend all assigned classes.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must demonstrate legible handwriting and good grammar/spelling.
- Must possess knowledge and/or experience with class or lab equipment.
- Must have a good academic background.
- Must be flexible and reliable.
- Must be able to work with confidential information.
- Must be able to upload notes or instructions
- Must complete hiring process timely, follow guidelines and requirements and submit time logs as directed by LSS

- Currently enrolled in or have taken the same or equivalent course as the student you will be assisting.
