What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Facilities Worker position at Washtenaw County Road Commission?
Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) is seeking qualified internal applicants for the position of Assistant Facilities Worker. An employee in this position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to the construction, repair, and maintenance of all buildings, grounds, and associated infrastructure under the jurisdiction of the road commission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
The listed job duties represent common tasks performed in this role. However, they do not encompass all responsibilities that may be assigned to the employee.
- Assists with minor repairs and maintenance to electrical, plumbing, HVAV, pumping, and lighting systems.
- Assists with rough and finish carpentry tasks related to building upkeep, including framing, installing and repairing walls, doors, windows, and other structural elements.
- Performs snow and ice removal from sidewalks, roadways, and parking lots using snowplows, loaders, shovels, and snow blowers. Applies deicing agents by hand or equipment.
- Cleans grounds, walks, parking lots, and such facilities as garages, barns, and yards.
Hauls and removes garbage; removes concrete, asphalt, dirt, brush, and clippings.
REQUIREMENTS
One year experience in a labor and trades occupation performing facilities maintenance.
Valid Michigan Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
