What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Wasik Associates LLC?
Oversee 1st shift manufacturing operation in all aspects of safety, quality, output and cost. Assign work direction daily; preparing and planning activities based on available resources, and requesting additional resources as the need presents itself.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of up to 20 manufacturing personnel, including machine shop and department leaders
- Implement production schedules and monitor production progress to reach daily production goals
- Ensure that the team is operating according to standard operating procedures
- Makes recommendations for workforce planning, hiring, training, development, work allocation, conflict resolution, performance evaluations and separations
- Supervises, coordinates and monitors plant activities to include the maintenance of equipment.
- Assist with arising production line questions or issues
- Prepare and submit regular production reports to management
- Monitor product quality and make necessary adjustments to ensure QA/QC compliance
- Retain awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error-free and damage-free results
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
- Communicate quickly and effectively if there are questions or concerns
- Enforce the usage of all required safety gear and equipment
- Serve as the liaison between engineering and manufacturing regarding production concerns and all ECO activity.
- Comply with plant rules and policies
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Ops
- Engineering Change control experience preferred
- MRP/ERP Software knowledge – BOMs, Routings
- Microsoft Excel and Word
- ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing preferred
- Written and oral communication
- Project management
Education/Experience:
- 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
- 10 years of working experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
- LEAN manufacturing experience is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
