Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As part of a dynamic team everyone needs to provide motivation, support and leadership to maintain project momentum. Your skills and resources will help to solve issues and plan the implementation. We are all focused to execute the masterplan, the welfare and wellbeing of the project is essential to the success.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of Production Managers – overseeing either clusters or production types.
  • Defining and managing the allocation of production areas within the team.
  • Driving the Production and Procurement strategy for all printed items and fabricated products – working with the Wasserman Live senior team to discuss strategy and prioritization.
  • Research and appoint supply chain options for product types.
  • Oversee and enforce the production schedule to communicate with the client.
  • Close working relationship with the Operations team to ensure alignment of processes and planning between production through to logistics and installation – including warehousing, and packing and logistics.
  • Close working relationship with Project Director in ensuring regular updates to Client, and participation in Client reporting and meetings.
  • Working alongside the venue team to identify materials and correct methodology for production.
  • Specification of the materials, methodology and other requirements to install the Dressing, Wayfinding and Signage elements of the scope.
  • Support on product specifications to be aligned with the sustainability objectives.
  • Working engineers and manufacturers for fabrication of structures (inc prototypes)
  • Oversee data integration and management for production within Quest.
  • Manage a Supplier visitation program where reasonable to ascertain their capabilities and risks.
  • Build relationships with suppliers to ensure quality control and regular reporting procedures. This includes ensuring meeting reporting and status update requirements.
  • Identify risks within the supply chain, provide mitigating solutions and options.
  • Apply practical solutions to problems that arise.
  • Input data onto Quest and other IT systems.
  • Manage budget controls to maintain the expected margins within the supply chain. Manage and oversee the margin tracking and reporting across the production area.
  • Highlight financial risk
  • Provide regular (weekly & monthly) updates against the production schedule, and against the Production program in general.
  • Management of client expectations through clear communication and co-ordination: creating presentations and documents for the client.
  • Support the Social and Sustainability manage to engage our team in our social purpose ambitions and the second life and legacy of the Look of the Games

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED

  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management processes and procedures.
  • Good working knowledge of site operations and brand opportunities (how to get things done).
  • Oversight of a production program in an event context highly valued.
  • Understand material types and purposes (what works where).
  • Management of a team to drive successful outcomes.
  • Direct work experience in a project management capacity or equivalent.
  • Experience in the management of suppliers and oversight of a production process highly valued.
  • Experience in the operational planning, organization and problem solving with great attention to detail in multi-sport international events.
  • Excellent communication and team building skills.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Creative thinker able to problem solve and provide innovative solutions to client briefs.
  • Ability to prioritize and think logically and methodically.
  • A “hands on” “can do” attitude with an ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (especially in Microsoft Excel & PPT) and Smartsheet proficiency.
  • Ability to work in databases
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite will be highly valued.
  • Current residence, or ability and willingness to relocate full time in USA for the duration of the project
