Job Description

Wasserman Digital is seeking a Solution Architect / Technical Lead to define the architecture and manage development projects across all project life-cycle phases for a range of eCommerce platforms, with the main focus on Shopify and other SaaS platforms. The Solution Architect is the technical owner of our client engagements. In this capacity they are responsible for architecting the solution, communicating it to clients, and working with engineering, QA and DevOps to make sure that the technical delivery is world-class.

Responsibilities

• Launch eCommerce solutions for Wasserman Digital customers and channel partners.
• Serve as technical expert and advisor to clients and partners to assist them in optimizing the product suites that define, build, and deploy eCommerce and self-service applications.
• Manage the ongoing maintenance and support of customer’s eCommerce sites.
• Manage the solution definition and delivery tasks within the software lifecycle. This includes coordinating Architecture, Design Reviews, Development Tasks, and QA.
• Deliver high-quality code as well as conduct code reviews of other developers’ work.
• Lead the troubleshooting of issues that span across multiple systems, teams, and vendors.
• Define, manage and enforce the development environment standards, including source control management, build automation, testing and code quality, and release management / theme deployments.
  
  

Required Experience / Skills

• You are expected to already be an expert on the Shopify platform and have relevant work experience building sites, themes and extensions.
• You fully understand the various Shopify APIs, tools, capabilities, and limitations.
• 5 years of experience with web development including the use of Javascript, jQuery, AJAX, Webpack, CSS/SASS, npm/yarn, HTML/5, Node.js, React, liquid templates.
• Experience with modern frameworks like React.js, Node.js, Vue.js, PWAs and Headless approaches is a plus.
• Experience with Laravel is a plus.
• Experience with BigCommerce, Magento or other eCommerce platforms is a plus.
• Project or team lead experience is strongly desired.
  
  

This can be a remote role within the continental USA time zone, or located at one of our offices. Wasserman Digital’s headquarters office is located in Boston but its team is distributed around the world. We do not want physical location to be a barrier between the right candidate and the Wasserman’s distributed work culture.
