Wasson Memorial is looking to hire an experienced registered veterinary technician or a veterinary assistant with a minimum of 1 year experience within the veterinary industry. Based on your level of experience we have entry level positions starting at $16/hour all the way up to $22 /hour for experienced RVTs. We are open 6 days a week, Monday - Saturday looking to fill two full time positions working four, 10 hour shifts.

Our veterinary technicians are responsible for providing compassionate and quality care to animals under the supervision of a veterinarian. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with examinations, treatments, and surgeries; performing laboratory tests; and maintaining the clinic's records and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the veterinarian with examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
  • Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal analysis.
  • Assist in positioning and performing x-ray imaging on patients.
  • Administer medications and vaccines.
  • Prepare animals for surgery and recovery.
  • Identifying correct pharmaceutical medications and properly filling patients' prescriptions.
  • Maintain the clinic's records and equipment.
  • Clean and disinfect the clinic's facilities.
  • Provide customer service to clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred licensure as a veterinary technician in the state of employment.
  • Preferred animal handling skills and proper restraint training.
  • Ability to work professionally in emotional situations.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle stress and work under pressure.
  • Love of animals.
