We have an immediate opening for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team working on our fleet of garbage trucks at LeMay Pierce County Refuse in Frederickson, WA, a Waste Connections Company. We encourage you to apply if you’re looking for secure and steady employment!
Pay and Schedule :
Hourly pay : $35.00 - $36.00 plus a $1.50 / hr shift differential
Shift : Monday - Friday, 2 : 30 PM - 11 PM
5,000 Stay-On Bonus
Key Responsibilities :
Performrepairsandpreventive maintenanceservices.
Inspect, diagnose, andrepairelectrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Use vehicle computerelectronicssystems to interpretfailure modesand initiaterepairs.
Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment. (Weldingexperience is a plus.)
Complete necessary paperwork usingfleet maintenancesoftware to documentrepairs, parts usage, andrepairtimes.
Review and addressrepairsnoted on DriverVehicle InspectionReports.
Perform additionalmaintenance-relatedwork as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work area, following corporate and OSHA standards.
Adhere to established safety procedures in all tasks.
Effectively communicaterepairneeds and tasks.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications :
At least one year of experience in heavy truckequipment maintenanceandrepairor completion of an accredited vocational-technical school program (preferred).
CDLpreferred (ideally obtained within the first 90 days of employment).
Personal toolsare required.
Proficient in diagnosing andrepairingvehicles and equipment.
Ability to read and understand service and technical information.
