Job Description
Waste Connections, Inc. has immediate openings for a highly skilled Diesel Engine Technician to join our team at our Okahumpka, FL location. Previous waste experience is a huge plus. This will be a Monday - Friday mid-shift position with Saturday's as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services on vehicles and equipment.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake, and air systems.
- Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes.
- Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software.
- Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Must provide own personal tools. Welding/fabrication experience is a huge plus.
- Computer experience is a plus.
- DPF Regeneration system on both CUMMINS and MACK trucks is a plus.
