We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Waste Connections. As a 2 PM Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on our fleet of garbage trucks and heavy equipment machines.
Responsibilities:
- Safety Checks: Conduct thorough safety checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Maintenance Documentation: Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times.
- Repair Reviews: Review, complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintenance Work: Perform maintenance-related work as required to ensure the smooth operation of our fleet.
- Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe work area in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Effective Communication: Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks to the team.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Experience: Preferably 1 year experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair or completion of a diesel tech program.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information.
