What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Engineer position at Waste Connections?
Location - Phoenix, AZ
If the candidate does not come from Landfill experience, must be willing to come to Denver, CO for 9-18 months for training prior to moving to Phoeniz, AZ
Salary - $120-150k (TOTAL COMPENSATION)

Requirements -
Minimum five (5) years relevant industry working experience such as waste services, civil construction, or mining. Project and capital budget management experience preferred.
Minimum 4-year degree in civil engineering, or environmental service
Role and Responsibilities
Serve the operating teams at multiple landfills and other waste management facilities across several states by leading and directing civil engineering and environmental projects. Projects include but not limited to renewable energy initiatives, cell development & phasing, permitting, building infrastructure, other land improvement, and environmental management systems.
Develop and promote innovations in material collection, processing and disposal systems to extract maximum value out of waste while protecting and enhancing the environment.
Engage directly with the Waste Connections operating and financial leaders to continually seek improvements in waste management operating efficiencies, while remaining true to our number one value of safety.
Lead the development of capital budgets for the business units in your designated area through collaboration with the operating and financial leaders. Manage capital project execution to the desired and expected business and financial outcomes.
Coach, train, and mentor field personnel in aspects of their work which may yield improvements in safety, compliance, and business performance.
