Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Equipment Mechanic Specialist to join our team at Waste Connections. The ideal candidate will have experience working on heavy equipment and be able to perform routine maintenance and repairs.
About the Position:
- Ordering parts and building relationships with equipment vendors
- Performing inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment
- Utilizing vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs
Key Responsibilities:
- Repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, including landfill compactors, dozers, excavators, motor graders, haul trucks, tippers, and site trucks
- Conducting safety checks on vehicles and equipment
- Completing required paperwork using fleet maintenance software programs
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Experience working on yellow iron/heavy equipment
- Able to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks
