Job Overview
The Waste Connections, Inc. team is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Technician to join our Sun Country Materials Landfill team in Riverview, FL.
About the Role

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working on yellow iron/heavy equipment and be able to provide their own personal tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services on heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Order parts and build relationships with onsite office clerks, site staff, and equipment vendors.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment and complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software.
- Review and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and perform maintenance-related work as required.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
The successful candidate will work in a well-lit and ventilated environment, both indoors and outdoors. This role requires extensive physical activity, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds, and may involve working in awkward or tight positions.
