What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Technician position at Waste Connections?
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at Waste Connections. The ideal candidate will have experience with diesel and yellow iron equipment, with a strong focus on maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
The successful candidate will perform repairs and preventive maintenance services, including inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems. They will also be responsible for efficiently operating bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor graders, scrapers, and other heavy equipment.
Salary: $30 /hr DOE
Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor graders, and scrapers
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate service and technical information
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (diesel and yellow iron experience)
- CDL is preferred but not required at time of hire
