We are seeking a skilled Heavy Truck Equipment Technician to join our team at Waste Connections in North Austin, Texas. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on our fleet of garbage trucks and heavy equipment machines.

Responsibilities
- Safety Checks: Conduct thorough safety checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Paperwork and Reporting: Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software programs associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Repair and Maintenance: Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports, and perform maintenance-related work as required.
- Organization and Communication: Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards, and effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks to colleagues and supervisors.
Requirements
- Experience: Preferably 1 year experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair or completion of a diesel tech program.
- Skills: Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
