What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landfill Gas Technician position at Waste Connections?
Waste Connections is looking for a Landfill Gas Technician to join our team at the landfill in Oakdale, LA. This is a physically demanding position and requires one to work outside in all weather conditions. 80% of the role is in the field, 20% data entry.
- Monday - Friday, on call nights/weekends as needed. Shift is from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- The pay range is $18-21/hr., depending on experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Field Installing and Repairing;
- Pulling and cleaning pumps on a regular maintenance schedule;
- Perform well field valve/vacuum adjustments;
- Run poly pipe;
- Calibrate, operate and maintain sensitive electronic data collection devices necessary to collect the data for reporting;
- Availability for after-hours response to GCCS related malfunctions event (s);
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements.
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
