Equipment Technician Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Technician to join our team at Waste Connections. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on yellow iron/heavy equipment and possess excellent problem-solving skills. They will also be comfortable working in an outdoor environment and be able to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair heavy equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
- Develop and maintain relationships with equipment vendors to obtain parts and support
- Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
- Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
- A strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds
