About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Waste Connections. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet of heavy equipment is maintained in good working condition.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with experience working on heavy equipment and vehicles. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to effectively interact with colleagues and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair heavy equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
- Develop and maintain relationships with equipment vendors to obtain parts and support
- Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
- Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
- A strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds
