Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Class A Transfer Driver to join our team at Redwood Waste Solutions, Inc., a Waste Connections company. As a driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a transfer truck on specified routes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of waste management services.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a transfer truck on designated routes.
- Read and follow route sheets, servicing each customer as assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Load and unload waste, often with no assistance, while maintaining a safe working environment.
Working Conditions:
- Work in an outdoor environment, exposed to varying weather conditions, including wet and humid conditions.
- Regularly lift and move heavy objects over 50 pounds, requiring physical stamina and strength.
- Frequent interaction with customers, necessitating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
- Valid Class A driver's license.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass regular background checks.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills in English.
- At least one year of experience in a related field, demonstrating relevant skills and knowledge.
