Position Description
Job Title: Receiving Clerk
Department: Operations Support
Reports to: Receiving Supervisor
Location: Andrews Worksite Facility
Summary
Responsible for all activities related to the facility incoming and outgoing non-waste related shipments. This position reports directly to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may receive occupational exposures to ionizing radiation that are As Low As is Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) and within regulatory limits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records, as appropriate.
· Prepares items for shipments to include assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stamps/stencils/glues identifying shipping information on cartons.
· Performs receiving inspections for all non-waste related goods and services for the facility.
· Assists accounting department in tracking and expensing purchase ordered goods and services.
· Determines method of shipments and serves as the main contact for outgoing express mail services. Coordinates all pick up and deliveries with these services.
· Manages and tracks uniform issuance, vending machines and copy repair services. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
· Manages and receives bills of ladings and approves receipts of materials brought onsite.
· Reviews invoices and receives purchase orders within Accounting Software.
· Routes items to departments. Operates tier lift truck, fork lifts, or uses hand-truck, as appropriate, to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area in a timely manner.
· Tracks the small Business Account spending for janitorial, uniforms, break room supplies, goods and services.
· Post weights and shipping charges and affixes postage
· Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Apply and reinforce the skills learned through human performance training to prevent personal errors and errors by other team members.
· Performs other related duties as required.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required. Three years related experience and/or training required.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory Software and Order Processing software.
