Job Overview:
GFL Environmental is seeking an experienced Swing Driver to join our team! As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient collection of waste and recyclables from our customers.
About the Role:
- Operate a variety of vehicle types, including Front End, Roll Off, Residential, and other trucks, to service customers on a daily basis.
- Responsible for safely collecting solid waste, yard waste, and recyclables from designated collection routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, complete daily truck reports, and maintain accurate records of services performed.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, as well as colleagues and supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; CDL license and commercial driving experience preferred.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
- Regularly work in outdoor environments with varying temperatures, humidity, and weather conditions.
Working Conditions:
- Frequently exposed to loud noises, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
- Occasionally work in high-pitched or confined spaces.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
