I. Job Summary

Under general supervision, provides intermediate level data and work assessment, reporting, and recommendations within assigned areas of expertise. Provides intermediate level analysis in order to support and enhance overall department workflow, customer service, improvement and work quality. Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and project planning in an effort to address current processes and continuously improve. Undertakes projects requiring specialized business knowledge and decision making that will influence others across the company to adopt newly re-engineered processes into WM business units.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.

  • Subject Matter expert for assigned functions.
  • Assist with project plans, and coordinates resources to accomplish project tasks.
  • Prepares reports on data summaries, changes, and trends for use by management. Provides assessment and recommendations to management.
  • Resolves issues arising from enterprise-wide functions, or as brought forth by internal or external customers to assigned department.
  • Tracks issues to resolution within department and in partnership with other groups.
  • Monitors overall workflow to ensure timely completion of projects and daily work requirements.
  • Assists with special projects within assigned department or as part of cross-functional teams as required or assigned.
  • Works with internal and external customers, suppliers and other partners to resolve problems, respond to suggestions for improvement and enhancements, test, refine and institutionalize solutions.
  • Monitors department processes and workflow to ensure overall accuracy and quality of data and work output.
  • Determines areas of risk as new or changed processes are implemented.
  • Recommends changes, updates and processes for continuous improvement in areas of expertise.
  • Evaluates current training methods and materials for assigned group and recommend improvements. Reviews and creates training as needed.
  • Provides training and support to lesser experienced members of assigned department as well as internal and external customers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

IV. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

  • Education : Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience in Business Administration related or similar area of study.
  • Experience : 3 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).
  • Highly prefer candidates who have experience with Accounts Payable.
  • Highly prefer candidates who are experienced with managing process with P-Cards, Travel & Expense Cards, Virtual Cards.
  • Prefer candidates with exposure to Snowflake and PowerBI.
  • B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

  • None required.
  • C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • May require intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite as well as general business and / or accounting systems and subject matter knowledge applicable to the department assigned.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to lead and influence others.
  • Good data analytics skills; able to derive meaning out of large volume data and present; presenting solutions.
  • Good in project plans, test plans executions and reporting status to leadership.
  • Experience in creating project plans, software development lifecycle and the different phases of software development.
  • Technical Skills : MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, LOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, Macros, Power BI, Oracle, SAP Concur, Coupa.
  • Knowledge may include, but not be limited, basic accounting processes and procedures, project management, training within areas of expertise, and strong analytical skills and communication skills.
  • This position requires ability to demonstrate knowledge of the business and an ability to apply that knowledge effectively to a variety of situations.
  • Must be in the Houston area and able to commute to downtown Houston (Monday – Thursday are in-office days and Fridays are remote on current work
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
