Job Summary
This role is responsible for onboarding, developing, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of all drivers and helpers. The incumbent establishes and maintains positive relationships with frontline employees and spends the majority of the day in the field with them.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Onboarding: Ensuring new frontline employees have the necessary tools, instruction, and feedback for successful daily duties.
- Developing: Providing timely and consistent touchpoints with frontline employees to enhance their performance.
- Coaching: Identifying and addressing improvement opportunities and collaborating with frontline employees to ensure continued success.
- Mentoring: Leading by example to promote safety practices among frontline employees and teaching them about the company's values.
- Performance Management: Conducting root cause investigations for injuries and incidents, ensuring consistent discipline and retraining.
- Reviewing and auditing documentation related to route operations daily.
- Visiting customers and customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
- High school diploma and two years of relevant work experience.
- Successful completion of the WM Route Manager Trainee program.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
- Valid driver's license.
Physical Demand / Work Environment
- Exposed to physical occupational risks rarely.
- Exposed to physical environment involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes occasionally.
- Works in a mix between an office environment and plant/field environment.
