Preferred Skills and Experience : Minimum of two years of leadership experience, preferably, supervising mechanics / technicians in a shop. Experience with maintenance and repair of heavy trucks and / or equipment; electric and hydraulics. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
Schedule : Start time is 2 : 00 pm
Travel : As needed, may include two weeks of training in AZ
I. Job Summary
Supervises and provides direct leadership for technicians. Manages workflow and assigns tasks.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of employees in the maintenance shop.
- Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, and monitors progress and quality.
- Reviews driver repairs and other maintenance requests and prepares work order documents.
- Performs mechanical duties as needed.
- Monitors inventory of replacement parts and restocks as needed.
- Oversees personnel including coaching, training, evaluating employee performance, and conducting disciplinary action as needed. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
- Interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies and safety regulations.
- Creates and submits reports as necessary.
- Direct supervision of, approximately, ten employees, including : Lead Technician, Technicians, (heavy duty trucks)
- May support District Fleet Manager with oversight of one or more other WM shops, remotely or onsite, as needed
- Other duties, as assigned
