Position Summary
The Director of Projects and Communications, reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, will lead and manage cross-functional projects across all areas of the business, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, this role will lead and develop robust communications and change management strategies that align the human capital strategy to positive business outcomes. This role requires an experienced leader to bridge multiple departments, drive the success of key initiatives, and ensure effective communication and project delivery. This individual will play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and ensuring seamless execution of complex, high-impact projects.
Essential Job Functions
- Oversee and drive the execution of cross-functional projects that span multiple departments, ensuring alignment with strategic organizational goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables, balancing the needs of different departments.
- Lead project teams, including representatives from various functional areas, including Operations, HR, IT, and other business functions.
- Ensure projects meet deadlines, stay within budget, and deliver high-quality results that drive business objectives.
- Determine and assess need for additional staff or consultants and make appropriate staffing adjustments during project cycles.
- Develop and implement strategic communication plans to ensure all stakeholders (employees, management, IT, operations) are informed about key business initiatives.
- Tailor messaging for various internal audiences, ensuring clarity and alignment with the organization’s goals and values.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and executive communications, providing updates to senior leadership on the status of key projects and initiatives.
- Enhance communication processes between functional teams, ensuring transparency and fostering a culture of collaboration.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across all functions to drive effective collaboration and ensure the success of cross-functional projects.
- Partner with senior leaders to prioritize projects, evaluate business needs, and ensure alignment of resources across departments.
- Lead regular project status meetings with key stakeholders, providing updates, managing expectations, and resolving conflicts as needed.
- Champion change management processes in all projects, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption of new systems, processes, and initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements across functional areas, collaborating with teams to implement solutions that drive efficiency, effectiveness, and employee satisfaction.
- Measure and report on project outcomes, leveraging data and feedback to improve future project strategies and communication efforts.

Certifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is preferred
- Change Management certification (e.g., Prosci, CCMP) or experience leading organizational change initiatives is preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 8 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years of experience in leading projects for cross functional teams of HR, Operations, and Information Technology.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time for company meetings, customer visits, and events.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects that span multiple departments and drive organizational change.
- Strong background in strategic communications, including the ability to tailor messages for diverse internal audiences (employees, leadership, IT, operations).
- Expertise in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Solid understanding of HR, IT, and Operations processes, and the ability to drive improvements across these functions.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of influencing and building relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decision-making and measure project success.

- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
