Summary
As a Controller at Waste Solution Services, you will take control of the financial operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage accounts payable and receivable, create and present reports, conduct balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial records. Extensive QuickBooks Online experience is required, and familiarity with Sage Intacct (which we are transitioning to) is preferred. Your expertise in cash management and financial reporting will contribute to the company’s financial health and support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Supervise accounting staff, ensuring a high level of performance and professional growth.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures and controls.
- Prepare and analyze and present financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax filings, and internal controls.
- Manage cash flow, oversee audits and ensure tax compliance.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Work closely with senior leadership to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations.
- Assist with ERP implementation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 7 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Quickbooks Online expert.
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct).
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a growing company environment.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
