Branch Operations Manager
This role centers around ensuring operational execution and efficiency for the Wasted* Burlington route-based service business. The ideal candidate should possess logical thinking skills, be hardworking, and a flexible team player capable of adapting to daily challenges and fluctuations of our service business. They should be able to assume the roles of both an operational leader who manages service technicians, a hands-on contributor.
The person filling this position will need to be comfortable with extreme proximity and potential exposure to human waste.
This role reports to the Director of Potties.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Direct oversight of routes, technicians, vehicles, yard and shop. Spearhead day-to-day operations to maximize operational efficiency and safety.
- Create and maintain a positive, safe, and effective work environment.
- Support technicians with field operations, fill in to complete jobs as needed.
- Maintain proper staffing levels to meet and exceed branch staffing operational needs.
- Operate a variety of company vehicles. Pull trailers with company vehicles.
- Monitor all services, pickups and deliveries. Recommend measures to improve operational practices and customer care.
- Support dispatch (scheduling of service routes and work with the operations administrator to assign work to technicians. )It is necessary to be or become proficient with operating software such as ServiceCore and Hubspot.
- Review of all paperwork including pre-post trips, fleet maintenance logs, service logs, etc for completion and accuracy.
- Work with various departments to resolve customer service & delivery issues.
- Work with teams at other branches to coordinate asset transfers.
- Work with the Director of Potties to develop and implement standard practices and efficiency recommendations.
- Review and approve timesheets ahead of payroll processing. Review and approve time off request forms and schedule time off based on operational necessity.
- Administer the company's safety program at the branch. Work with team members to coordinate training when necessary and maintain vehicle compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Ensure proper maintenance and repair of toilet inventory and vehicle fleet. Track inventory in systems.
- Responsible for technician training, development & conducting periodic performance reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills
- Team player with a "can-do" attitude.
- Prior Managerial experience
- Excellent communication (written and verbal)
- Maintains a calm and level-headed demeanor under pressure and in challenging or stressful situations.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Strong software skills (ServiceCore, HubSpot, Google Suite, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Able to walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion, lift 30 lbs from floor to head, and push/pull 100 lbs horizontally.
- Prior experience with overseeing DOT compliance
- Valid driver's license (CDL or non-commercial).
Compensation
- $60,000 - $70,000 commensurate on experience
