What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pricing Manager position at Wastequip?
A successful candidate will be a strategic, big-picture thinker and be able to effectively analyze internal and external data and communicate pricing solutions to a wide range of audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Understand company pricing strategies to identify opportunities for improvement and maximize financial impacts in a manufacturing environment.
- Analyze market conditions, competitor pricing, and customer segments to determine optimal pricing structures.
- Managing the process of establishing list prices thru the various pricing tiers and their adjustments monthly
- Develop pricing margins for large project opportunities with support of costing accounting, FP&A and Sales.
- Conduct comprehensive pricing analysis to identify opportunities for revenue growth and margin improvement.
- Regularly review and adjust pricing models based on market dynamics and performance metrics.
- Partner with Regional sales managers, Inside Sales Reps, CSRs, engineering, cost accounting and other partners to understand both customer needs and Wastequip requirements.
- Mastery of WQ products, specifications, etc. to supports the sales team as well as the bid department.
- Prepare and present key insights and pricing intelligence to management weekly, monthly and quarterly.
- Apply financial, analytical and communication skills to influence decisions that impact profit.
- Evaluate effectiveness of executed pricing strategies to ensure goals are achieved.
- Review and evaluate quotes from sales team, providing feedback, adjustments and changes as required.
- Partner with product management team to create profitable pricing strategies, including pricing associated with new product development.
- Develop and maintain pricing guidelines and procedures to maintain consistency and transparency in pricing decisions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to communicate pricing changes and strategies effectively.
- Lead negotiations with key contract customers to provide maximum value for organization, optimizing volume, price and contributing profit.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Plastic Industry and Plastic Market Index impact on cost/price.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, engineering or related field in a Manufacturing environment.
- 5 years of proven experience in pricing management, revenue management, or related roles.
- Strong quantitative skills required.
- Experience with data mining and analysis (primarily Excel, ERP and Salesforce CPQ/CRM applications)
- Ability to work with large sets of data and extract actionable insights.
- Analytical and organized with relentless attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with all levels of an organization.
- Experience in Manufacturing or the Waste Industry strongly preferred.
- Clear understanding of Labor & Overhead rates and their application in building cost/price

Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
