Job Overview
Wautaga Humane Society is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will safely and efficiently execute corrective maintenance and develop a preventative maintenance program while keeping accurate records.
Duties
- Create and implement preventive maintenance (PM) schedule for all buildings and systems as assigned.
- Keep accurate records for maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.
- Keep an accurate inventory of supplies needed regularly.
- Review work lists with staff and ensure routine communication.
- Develop and improve skills in all aspects of building maintenance through participation in approved training sessions.
- Maintain a safe work environment. Perform all work in a safe manner and follow all associated safety guidelines.
- Assist with grounds maintenance including winter weather preparations.
- Contribute up-to-date maintenance and repair data.
- Assist in loading and unloading various equipment and supplies.
- Follow policies and procedures of Watauga Humane Society as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Maintain a professional atmosphere at all times as you will be working around the public and volunteers.
- Professionally represent Watauga Humane Society with outside contractors.
- Other duties as assigned not specifically identified in the job description.
Experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Two (2) years maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Construction/mechanical experience in a commercial environment is preferred.
- Contractor, electrical or plumbing license is an added plus.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Availability
This position has flexible hours for the ideal candidate as the shelter is open every day for staff.
