Quality Assurance Manager - Software / Technology

Summary / Objective

Manages and coordinates activities and operations of quality assurance department and staff.

Quality Assurance Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with other managers and associates to identify critical success factors, develop measurement systems, and implement continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Designs, develops, and implements comprehensive quality assurance programs.
  • Maintains, enforces, and measures quality assurance processes.
  • Defines and manages an end-to-end test environment including but not limited to selection of tools, methods, and process.
  • Reviews and evaluates services to correct deficiencies and formulate improvements.
  • Assures on-time delivery of new projects; ensures product quality, performance, and conformity with company established specifications.
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of new programs, services, and projects; monitors progress and evaluates results; recommends changes or other action as appropriate.
  • Maintains and manages department budget.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and implements technological changes to enhance performance and customer requirements.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops quality assurance staff; manages schedules and workflow.
  • Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Quality Assurance Manager Skills and Specifications

  • Must have excellent listening, oral and interpersonal skills to interact with programmers and application users or stakeholders
  • Must have excellent technical writing skills to documents QA results and recommendations
  • Must have an analytical mind and an eye for detail that can help troubleshoot problematic programs and executable codes

  • Supervisory Responsibility

  • Directly supervises employees within the department(s).
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems .
  • Quality Assurance Manager Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
  • Four to six years related experience or equivalent.
  • Experience with manual testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow

  • Acute attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
  • Proficient with Windows, MS Office Suite, Testing software such as Selenium, TestComplete or similar, and Visual Studio
  • Experience with API testing frameworks (e.g., Postman, Swagger) and API automation tools
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools such as Locust or JMeter and their integration with automation workflows
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering / technical specialization.

  • Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

    This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

    Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8 : 30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Travel

    No travel is expected for this position.

    Work Authorization / Security Clearance

    Must pass Background check and drug test .
