What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, International Transportation position at Watchpoint Transportation LLC?
The Manager, International Transportation directs the activities of a group of Import and Export Agents and their work environment. They develop the team and execute processes, meeting and exceeding team member and customer expectations.
**This is a hybrid position; must be able to reliably commute to our Burlingame, CA office 3-4 days per week **

The starting pay for this position is expected to be $85k - $105k. Exact compensation is based on skills, experience, education, and location.
Job Duties
- Manages communication between team members, account managers and customer contacts.
- Ensures customer expectations are met through regular meetings and involvement at quarterly business reviews.
- Ensures that the customer is accurately profiled (e.g. SOP and Pricing Tariff) in Salesforce.
- Collaborates with management team and the customer to create standard operating procedures (SOP) and directs execution.
- Monitors service failures through the Salesforce Incident Management tool and manages the corrective action process.
- Provides prompt and accurate information to the team to ensure all members are working to meet/exceed our customers' expectations.
- Directs positive change so that the Company's key objectives and business goals are met in an ever-changing marketplace.
- Ensures department is in compliance with wage and hour laws including approval of team member time cards, time off scheduling, and assigning appropriate and timely breaks.
- Manages workload allocation and labor expense ratios and produces monthly KPI reports.
- Provides coaching, training, and opportunities for growth to improve team member skills. Gives ongoing constructive feedback on performance and progress and holds timely discussions (1:1 meetings) and annual performance reviews.
- Promotes organizational mission and goals and shows the way to achieve them. Creates a positive work environment where all team members are empowered and motivated to do their best.
- Utilizes their knowledge of FTR/BIS regulations and operations, acting as a liaison during audits, and provides backup to Compliance Manager as needed.
- Use systems and technology to determine maximum routing optimization and maintains carrier relationships.
- Keeps current and up to date with changes in TSA rules and regulations through continuous training. Responsible for maintaining compliance standards for the department in collaboration with Compliance Manager.
- Ensures a 98% target to on time performance
- Advanced use of computer systems and applications (MS Office, Cargowise, Salesforce) as trained/required.
- Able to deliver quality results consistently and on schedule. Self-motivated and follows through on initiatives.
- Experience in delivering world class customer service skills through problem solving, rapport building, and effectively de-escalating high pressure conversations with patience and decorum.

- Manages priorities and sets productivity expectations. Ensures initiatives are fairly distributed and the team is set to successfully deliver on project objectives. Identifies and takes accountability for meeting KPIs.
- Effectively manages team performance through training, coaching, and feedback.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills in managing diverse teams. Able to delegate tasks and responsibilities, sets clear and impactful goals and holds team members accountable.
- Demonstrated experience with managing human, financial and operational resources resulting in optimization of resources. Strong analytical skills; makes decisions based on long-term payoffs or outcomes.
- Committed to continued education and certification in the international transportation field.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience in the Freight Industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master of Export Specialist (NCBFAA) preferred
- General import certification (NCBFAA - Import 101) preferred
Physical Requirements
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's essential functions require the following physical demands: operating a computer, remaining stationary for most of the shift, and occasionally moving about the workspace. The person in this position frequently exchanges information using email and other electronic communication methods and must be able to observe and report on communication received via phone and computer.
