Watchtower Security, a rapidly growing national video surveillance provider for the multifamily industry, is seeking a dynamic and driven Product Owner to join our team. The Product Owner will play a pivotal role in driving the development and enhancement of our innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the multifamily industry, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing product development cycles.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead cross-functional teams in the development of new products and features.
- Groom, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features.
- Work closely with engineering teams to define user stories and acceptance criteria and ensure alignment with business objectives and strategic goals.
- Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and development teams to vet product and feature requests and ensure a clear understanding of product requirements.
- Create sprint plans, establish sprint goals, and clearly communicate objectives to development teams.
- Follow the progress of work and address production issues during sprints, mitigating roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals.
- Lead product-release planning and set expectations for the delivery of new functionalities.
- Regularly communicate project status, key milestones, and potential risks to leadership and other relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to define and execute comprehensive testing plans, ensure products meet high-quality standards, and promptly address any issues.
- Collect and analyze user feedback and product performance metrics to proactively identify opportunities and drive the continuous improvement of products.
- Iterate on existing features and identify opportunities for enhancements based on user needs and market trends.
- Conduct market research, customer interviews, and other discovery activities to identify opportunities, prove hypotheses, quantify risks, and challenge assumptions.
- Manage, update, and distribute product team assets such as roadmaps, story maps, opportunity-solution trees, opportunity canvases, and sprint review documents.
- Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Job Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of team-based, technology-related work experience (Product Owner, Associate Product Manager, Product Operations, Scrum Master, or Business/Systems Analyst roles preferred).
- Previous achievement of CSM and/or CSPO certifications.
- Proven track record of successful delivery in an Agile development environment.
- Familiarity with the multifamily industry and an understanding of video surveillance technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating with remote teams is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience working with cloud-based tools such as Jira, Slack, Google Suite, and PowerBI.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Computer Science, Engineering) is preferred.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
