What are the responsibilities and job description for the SCADA INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN I position at Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County?
A person in this position performs intermediate technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of process measurements and control systems, electrical/electronic control and power distribution systems, continuous emissions monitoring systems, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and other systems required for operation of treatment plants, pumping stations, and related facilities, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the SCADA/Instrumentation Supervisor.
This position requires a thorough knowledge of the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, power distribution, and instrumentation systems; thorough knowledge of water and wastewater treatment process, operation of Pure Oxygen Plant; general knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions required in the work; general knowledge of tools, equipment, automation, and materials needed to perform effectively in electrical and electronic tasks; thorough knowledge of methods, practices, and procedures in electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repair work; ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, and schematics; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms; ability to diagnose improper operation of equipment or devices and to take proper corrective or remedial action; ability to complete records and reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, engineers, regulatory agency representatives, and associates.
The position requires the following:
- Associates/Technical degree in electronics, electrical instrumentation, computerized controls, or related field and minimal experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical/electronic systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license in the state of North Carolina
